MIGRATIONS, DIVERSITIES AND CULTURAL MEDIATIONS
Descripton of the Research Group
The Migrations, Diversities and Cultural Mediations Research Group contributes to the production of new knowledge about national and international migrations, through a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach paying particular attention to the processes of integration and social change, citizenship and social and political participation, transnationalism and diaspora, memory and identities, and intercultural relations. It aims at contributing to the debate and critical analysis of the transformations in Portuguese society according to the dynamics and configurations of migratory models and phenomena, articulating research and public policies. The group carries out research and cultural production activities in artistic mediation, interculturality and technological mediation, culture and local development. In this context, it pays particular attention to participatory audiovisual and digital research methodologies, the shared construction of knowledge and the issues of hypermobility in contemporary societies.
